About Us

Who We Are

Teachers Tutoring UK was founded by Sam and Minu, two passionate, qualified teachers determined to make learning exciting, empowering, and accessible for every child.

Having taught for years in London schools, they saw the widening education gap first-hand and decided to take action.

We exist to ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of background.

Our teacher-led tutoring helps pupils build confidence, improve literacy and numeracy, and rediscover the joy of learning.

Our story

Why We Started

Extra tuition for primary school children has never been more vital.
With average class sizes around 27 pupils among the largest in the developed world—many children struggle to get the individual attention they need

The effects of the pandemic continue to be felt: despite over 1.5 million tutoring courses delivered through the National Tutoring Programme in 2023–24, only about half of primary schools could access this support due to reduced subsidies and funding pressures.

Research shows that pupils receiving small-group or one-to-one tuition are 20–24% more likely to meet expected standards in English and maths compared to their peers. Yet too many families still miss out.

Teachers Tutoring UK was created to close that gap  offering high-quality, teacher-led tutoring that helps children catch up, build confidence, and achieve.
We’re proud to serve disadvantaged communities across London and the South East, providing affordable tutoring that makes a measurable difference.

Teachers Tutoring UK

The Challenge

Too many children are falling behind in maths and English not because they lack ability, but because they don’t get the individual support they need.

Class sizes are large. School budgets are stretched. Disadvantaged pupils are still up to 20% less likely to reach expected standards by age 11. With only half of schools able to access government tutoring support in 2023–24, many children simply miss out.

When pupils lose confidence, they begin to disengage. Small gaps in learning become big barriers — and some children leave school believing they “can’t do it”.

Teachers Tutoring UK

Why children need us

We bring qualified teachers directly into schools to deliver small-group tutoring in maths and English where it’s needed most.

Our approach works. Pupils who take part make faster progress, feel more confident, and re-engage with learning – setting them up for long-term success.

Teachers Tutoring UK

Our Purpose

Every child deserves the chance to succeed — no matter their postcode, background, ethnicity, or starting point. Many pupils face barriers to learning, whether due to financial hardship, limited resources, or inequalities that disproportionately affect BAME communities.

We know that over 25 percent of pupils in England are eligible for free school meals, and around 2.2 million receive Pupil Premium funding. These numbers show how many young learners are navigating real disadvantage.

We are here to close the attainment gap, one lesson at a time.

Through high quality, teacher led tutoring, we give pupils the personalised support they need to build confidence, strengthen core skills, and realise their potential. By working closely with schools and families, we aim to level the playing field and ensure every child has the chance to thrive.
